This one day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is an entry level  first aid course for training individuals to act as emergency first aiders within the workplace, and like the full FAW course is both First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) approved, and run to the current Resuscitation Council (UK) 2010 guidelines.

It is a 1 day (6-hour duration) course, designed to equip a person to take on the role of emergency workplace first aider with competency skills to deal with first aid emergencies within the workplace as per Health & Safety Executive (HSE) recommended guidelines. Additionally, it gives you the peace of mind that you have capable individuals ready to go when the need arises.

Following successful ongoing practical assessment, this qualification certifies the successful first aider for a 3 year period from the date of qualification. Health & Safety Executive recommendations are that each qualified first aider should undertake an annual skills update to refresh their practical skills once qualified. The course is both informative and fun, and delegates are actively encouraged to contribute (we don’t like death by powerpoint any more than you), and student feedback indicates we’re doing it right.

It is a concise, but fun introduction to first aid for non-first aiders, and doesn’t require any prior knowledge of first aid for commencing training.

Delegates presented for training by their employer or course booker should be of a suitable physical, mental and emotional disposition to be able to fully undertake the role of emergency first aider within their workplace. Also, they should have good communication skills and able to cope with stressful and physically demanding emergency procedures¹.

This course is particularly well-suited for low-risk sectors such as offices and shops.
